The Destinations

Albuquerque

We'll start with a dinner Thursday evening in Albuquerque at Applebee's at 10600 Lomas Blvd NE. This is just north off the I-40 Eubank exit. There are a number of hotels and motels within walking distance of Applebees. Here's two:

  • Holiday Inn Express, 10330 Hotel Ave tel. 505.275.8900
  • The Days Inn, 10321 Hotel Ave. tel. 505.275.3297
I've not tried to get a group discount because so many people in 2005 stayed at different places in this ares (hotel circle ne).
We'll have dinner at 6pm at the Applebee's across the street from these hotels. That way you can safely drink a beer and be able to safely walk to your hotel afterwards. That will also make it easier to figure out how to stash all the loot you could win from our raffle.

Taos

Friday and Saturday night we'll stay at the Kachina Lodge in Taos.

We got a group rate of $69/night per room (single or double) and they've set aside 30 rooms until 5/5/07. The $69/night includes

  • breakfast
  • wine and cheese reception in the afternoon
  • wireless internet

The Lodge also has an outdoor pool, guest laundry, paved parking outside rooms, park-like grounds with picnic benches. I'm looking into having dinner catered at least Friday night out by the pool. At 7pm they have a troupe of Native American dancers perform outside free of charge.

When you call the Lodge at 1.800.KACHINA (or email) to make your reservations, tell them you're with the SW-FOG group.
