Since the FJR was released to North America in 2002 (as the 2003 model year), the motorcycle has gained in popularity and prestige as the ultimate SPORT-touring machine. As riders began to swallow up miles of the continent's twistier by-ways they decided to start regional gatherings to ride, show-off farkles, and share a beer and meal together. First Western riders met in 2002/2003; then Eastern FJR folks gathered in 2004, as well follow-on gatherings in the Central U.S., South, Southwest, and hearty riders from Canada began hosted gatherings. What began as weekends of impromptu riding and meals evolved into longer organized events with vendors and Yamaha corporate participation with demo bikes.
Further fueled by virtual year-round gathering places like FJRForum.com, riders began traversing the continent and international boundaries to attend far-flung regional events while at the same time a second generation of FJR's in different hued livery was released. It was decided at the 6th consecutive Western FJR Owners meeting in Park City, UT by regional representatives to take the event to the next level. It was time to hold the first North American FJR Owners gathering somewhere towards the middle of the continent, invite every single FJR owner to come, and have an even bigger party!
Come join us at the Denver West Marriott in beautiful Golden, Colorado on July 24-27, 2008! This event promises to be the World's Largest Gathering of FJR motorcycles ever!
